General Aviation

All sections of the general aviation industry, fixed or rotary wing, whether police or rescue helicopters, air ambulance helicopters, private pilots and glider pilots, constantly rely on a variety of onboard instruments and digital devices which must not only be maintained to maximum efficiency and accuracy, but require regular cleaning to maintain optimum clarity. Whether you are a captain or a co-pilot, you need a cleaner for your various instruments and screens which will do the job effectively and safely.

Visial ALG/CR215 wet/dry antistatic wipes were specifically formulated for all on-board aviation electronic systems, whether radars, electronic position fixing and charting systems and general instrumentation. Handy and neat, these effective, highly approved and regularly endorsed wipes clean all touchscreens and surfaces, whether glass or acrylic, to optical brilliance.

For headsets and oxygen masks which need to be cleaned free of bugs, sweat and grime, ALG/RCBA biocidal wipes have been proved highly effective in destroying 99.9 percent of environment organisms, as well as being ideal for cleaning all airborne avionics. Dirty, sticky, sweaty finger smears on EFIS screens can be quickly wiped away to leave a pristine surface. Pilots can be confident that the high-grade, soft, fluff-free wipe material, impregnated with Alglas highly approved cleaning formulations, is totally non-abrasive on all surfaces.

Visial VDU Cleaner 150ml. spray has proved to be a popular choice across the industry for cleaning all surfaces, whether toughened or standard glass, acrylic or polycarbonate surfaces. The fine mist-spray has been lab-tested to prove that it reduces static build-up for at least 7 weeks across system displays, radars and electronic touch-screens.

AGC/22 Aircraft Glass Cleaner, 1 litre trigger spray, Alglas pilot product, was approved by Douglas Aircraft Company on 23 November 1988, and found to be a “very efficient cleaner with no adverse effects”. AGC/22 is a versatile and highly effective product that will remove all marks and stains from both cockpit windscreens and passenger cabin windows, inside and out. These marks include jet efflux as encountered when flying into busy airports. Also bug, fly and moth debris which smear the screen on airport approach and departure.

Airlines

Unfortunately, airline pilots may occasionally find their instruments covered in sticky residue after the previous captain and first officer have departed. What he needs first are clean instruments. Visial ALG/CR215 twin wet and dry sachets are specially formulated to remove smears, smudges and static build-up from all screens and devices to restore optical brilliance. For extra peace of mind, all screens can be sanitised effectively with ALG/RCBA twin wet and dry anti-bacterial sanitiser wipes. They can be used across all surfaces in cockpit, cabin and galley which require sanitation. The Public Analyst’s Laboratory confirmed that Alglas ALG/RCBA anti-bacterial cleanser sanitiser achieved a bacteria kill rate on surfaces which exceeded 99.9 per cent and was an effective cleanser. Both products can be safely used during flight to maintain clarity of instrumentation.

Flight Schools

For student pilots with so much to learn about sophisticated systems in modern aircraft, clean and readable instruments may be considered essential. As they learn the many on-board electronic systems, screens are touched continuously by instructors and pilots which leads to smeary, sticky surfaces from countless sweaty fingers. Handy, portable and effective ALG/CR215 removes this residue and also static build up for brilliantly clean results. ALG/RCBA twin wet and dry biocidal and antibacterial wipes will ensure a clean and sanitised screen.

Military

Whether a pilot is training or flying on missions, the need for clarity of instruments and avionics it is obviously of paramount importance. ALG/CR215 twin wet and dry wipes are the answer to the problem of sticky residue and dust, quickly restoring clarity and brilliance to sensitive optical surfaces. ALG/CR215 wipes were tested by Macdonnell Douglas in 1989 and they were approved in accordance with Military Specification P-8184. Other tests found CR215 to be “a very effective cleaner” with no detrimental effects on acrylic surfaces.

The Royal Airforce confirmed in 1990 that CR215 wipes were tested on aircraft canopies, and sticky fingerprints were removed swiftly. STC Defence systems confirmed lasting and significant reduction in the electro-static field in static sensitive semiconductor devices, display screens and terminals. Each Alglas product has a NATO stock number. AGC/22 Aircraft Glass Cleaner effectively cleans cockpit and cabin glass and Visial VDU cleaner 150 ml. mist spray is widely used on radars and computer systems. British Aerospace (Military Aircraft) Ltd. approved the use of AGC/22 cleaner on all cockpit transparencies on Bae aircraft.

Simulators

Alglas supply major flight simulator operators throughout the UK with ALG/CR215 twin wet and dry sachets to clean instruments on flight decks. Whatever Flight simulator you may use, Alglas sachets are the preferred choice for maintaining optical clarity of read-out information.
